How to Create a Simple Spreadsheet in LibreOffice 4.3 Calc

Creating spreadsheets

Context

LibreOffice 4.3 Calc can be used to organize efficient spreadsheets.

Prerequisites

  • LibreOffice 4.3

Steps

  1. Open LibreOffice 4.3, and click 'Calc Spreadsheet' to open a new spreadsheet

    To open an existing spreadsheet click 'Open File' instead (Figure 1 Below)

  2. Make your calculations

    Be sure to learn a few of calc's built in functions:


  3. Use LibreOffice to format your finished calculations(Figure 2 Below)

    Calc can create graphs, tables, and charts!

  4. Add more spreadsheets, creating a workbook, using the green plus sign in the bottom left corner of the application
  5. Save your work by clicking 'File' then 'Save As' or by holding 'Ctrl' and 's' simultaneously

    Be sure to frequently save your spreadsheet to avoid lost of information

  6. Print your spreadsheet by clicking 'File' then 'Print' or by holding 'Ctrl' and 'p' simultaneously

    You can also export your spreadsheet to a PDF and print your spreadsheet by pressing the PDF icon or the print icon, respectively
